A06 – Alexander Heckel

Light-responsive riboswitches and miRNA activity

In project A6, we will implement new ways to regulate RNA with light as external stimulus. For that, we will develop light-responsive riboswitches using different approaches. Using caged antimiRs, we will regulate wound healing with light in a mouse model. Furthermore, we will develop new ways to regulate RNA hybridization with light using reversible photoswitches and prepare differently labelled RNAs for several spectroscopically oriented projects of this CRC.
